Myth
1 - Tai Chi is originated from Chen or
Cheung
Tai
Chi was created by Yang Lou Zen. Yang
transformed the Chen' family routine some 150
years ago due to business nature.
The
said relating to Cheung San Feng, a Taotist, of 1000
years ago is a non-sense. In an article on Tao,
Cheung clearly mentioned that the practices of
massage, exercise, breathing, qi gong,
pressure points, were NOT real TAO kung fu.
Myth
2 - Tai Chi does breathe normally or
evenly
'To
breathe normally, or evenly', is a NON-SENSE.
If
it is normally, and naturally, we do not have
to learn.
If
it is evenly, the movements restrict us from
breathing normally.
What training
is for? It is for doing something
different to our daily basic pattern, and thus
creating stimulant effects as the result.
Breathing
is important for practicing Tai Chi.
Ziboce
says, the safest way is, to Breathe naturally
AS REQUIRED in the first place. There are many
ways to practice for particular results.
Myth
3 - Tai Chi moves slowly
The
essence of Tai Chi is 'MATCH', or
"BALANCE".
So,
Tai Chi cannot be slow. But also, cannot be
fast.
When
we do push hands, one of the keys is to synchronize
both speeds.
We
do not learn 'SLOW' for the sake of learn.
Myth
4 - Tai Chi is a sort of moving meditation
That
depends on how meditation is interpreted.
Taking
a rest, moving slowly, relaxation, soft,
gentle, quiet, emptiness, reducing tension,
etc., do NOT relate in any sense to
meditation.
In
Ziboce's understanding, Tai Chi is an exercise
by itself. The principle is NON-STOP, with
movements in the tracks of curves. One of the
characteristics of Tai Chi is RESPONSE.
Meditation
and Zen are different. Meditation refers to
absolute stillness, while Zen relates to
comparative DIFFERENCES.
We
shall never go into a meditation state, while
we are doing exercises.
Myth
5- Tai Chi is soft
SOFT
does not refer to weak, loose, floppy, or
powerless.
Ziboce
says that 'Soft' is the way how interaction
takes place.
For
example, soft landing of aircrafts. Aircrafts
are not soft in the structure, or framework.
But the way how aircrafts touch the ground.
Ziboce
Tai Chi works on RESPONSE, disregarding the
conditions and states of the media.
Myth
6- Fa Jing reflects Tai Chi skill
levels
Ziboce
classifies purposes of Tai Chi into three
categories, i.e., healing, interest, and
interaction.
Fa
jing is irrelevant to Healing.
Fa
jing for interest deals with self-expression.
Ziboce renames self-expression exercise as
'Tai Chi Zen Dance'.
Fa
jing for interaction involves counteracting
and interruption. Ziboce has no interest in
this category.
